Dyslexia - Focus on ability

Mike is dyslexic and has spent the last 8 years promoting greater understanding and appreciation of dyslexia. As a community artist, filmmaker and educator, he has worked with many dyslexia organisations in the UK. He believes that the education system must adapt to meet all learning styles and has enabled many fellow dyslexics to contribute to the debate, learn new skills and build confidence.

Mike still seeks funding for a national awareness film that could be shown in ALL schools and has the support of many key figures. The fact that there is no film presently is a real shame and something he desperately wants to change.

Mikes film work has been shown Internationally with work premiered at the House of Lords and many other educational establishments. It has also been screened on Satellite TV, The London Disability Film festival and across the web. A piece called Dyslexia… Visual Jazz is currently @ at the channel 4 web site.
